In 1991, Garry was awarded the Man of Steel. In 1994, Garry was made a Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE). In 2012, Garry was inducted into the Wests Tigers Hall of Fame. In 2013, Garry was inducted into the British Hall of Fame
