Originally a Rugby Union player, Tom joined St Helens in 1957. Tom was a member of St Helens’; 1959 Championship Final victory, 1961 Challenge Cup Final victory, 1965 Challenge Cup Final, 1966 Championship Final victory and Challenge Cup, and 1967 Championship Final. Tom played 409 games for St Helens over 11 seasons (392 tries).
Tom is the joint record holder for the most tries in a match for St Helens (6) and is the only player to do it twice. In 2000, Tom was inducted into the British Hall of Fame. T, andm is a member of the St Helens Hall of Fame.
