Ken debuted with the North Sydney Bears as a winger in 1958. Ken captained North Sydney from 1969. Ken played 176 games for North Sydney games over 13 seasons (171 tries, 59 goals, 1 field goal). In 1971, Ken joined the Manly Sea Eagles. Ken was a member of Manly’s 1972-73 premiership-winning teams. Ken played 60 games for Manly over 3 seasons (41 tries, 11 goals).
Ken played 7 games for City Firsts from 1960-65 (7 tries). Ken played 7 games for Sydney from 1959-60, 1963-64 and 1966 (11 tries). Ken played 24 games for New South Wales from 1959-67 (30 tries, 4 goals). Ken played 31 test matches for Australia from 1959-68 (33 tries).
Ken passed away on December 22 1990.
Kevin was the NSWRL’s top try scorer in; 1959, 1966,1969 and 1970. In 2004, Ken was inducted into the Australian Hall of Fame. In 2006, Ken was selected on the Wing in the North Sydney Team of the Century. In 2008, Ken was chosen on the Wing in the Australian Team of the century. Also, in 2008, Ken was selected as one of Australia’s 100 Greatest Players. In 2018, Ken was inducted into the NRL Hall of Fame. Also, in 2018, Ken was inducted into the NSWRL Hall of Fame. A grandstand at North Sydney Oval is named after Ken. Ken holds the NRL record for most tries (212). The top try-scorer in the NRL is awarded the Ken Irvine medal
