In 1989 Kevin was appointed coach of the Salford Red Devils. Kevin coached Salford for 4 seasons. In 1994 Kevin was appointed coach of the Chorley Chieftans (rebranded as the Lancashire Lynx in 1997). Kevin coached Chorley for 4 seasons. In 1999 Kevin was appointed coach of Whitehaven. Kevin coached Whitehaven for 7 seasons. Kevin coached New Zealand Máori in 2006

In 1995, Kevin was an inaugural inductee as a New Zealand Legend of League. In 2010 Kevin was selected as a prop in the Petone Panthers Team of the Century. In 2012 Kevin was chosen as a prop in the Wellington Team of the Century. In 2019 Kevin was inducted into the Maori Sports Hall of Fame. Kevin is an Auckland Immortal.
