I have updated my World Cup squads to celebrate 50 days until the 2017 Rugby League World Cup. I have also decided to update you on where things are headed. All this and more in the latest edition of the Blog of Cheese.

I have decided to update my squads to reflect a closer look at how the squads will look at the tournament, given the number of players already ruled out. The squads have been updated to remove players who will miss the tournament through injury or lack of form. Several countries have released train-on squads, and whilst these are not strictly where they will come from, they’re used as a starting point. I have also tried to help out the second-tier nations by selecting players who are eligible for them over tier-one countries.

In Rugby League 9s and What Is With All These News Articles? I mentioned a planned website. The website is still in the planning stage due to unforeseen circumstances. Even though the website is on hiatus, I have added an On This Day Feature to the Facebook page/Twitter account.

The On This Day Feature includes; the birth of every member of the English Hall of Fame, the birth of the majority of New Zealand Rugby League Legends of League, and the birth of every player included in the Australian Hall of Fame and voted one of Australian Rugby League’s 100 greatest players, as well as Team of the Century coach Jack Gibson. It also includes every single NSWRL/ARL/Super League/NRL Grand Final, every single Challenge Cup Final, every AMCO Cup/Tooth Cup/KB Cup/National Panasonic Cup/Panasonic Cup final, as well as every interstate match from 1908-1968 (which will be added upon completion), the birth of the majority NSWRL/ARL/Super League/NRL clubs, when they played their first and last game (which will be added next year) and many test matches as well as every Rugby Football League/Super League (UK) Grand Final.

A number of the biographies are short only because I cannot find information online, including details for several New Zealand Rugby League Legends of League. I am also limited in confirming the dates for several recent Queensland Cups and have no information on the Queensland State League or the Brisbane Rugby League. In the future, I hope to include all this in the player’s biographies and the page in general. The exact circumstances are also why the podcast is on hold.

A massive thank you to the people at Rugby League Project who make the On This Day feature so much easier

And Another Thing: I was happy the other week when Todd Greenburg confirmed on Twitter recently during a Q and A announcement that the Hall of Fame will return soon. I have campaigned for it and am glad to see it return.
